Abstract
Several years of below-target recruitment have led to a shortage of Computing Teachers in the English school system additionally, candidates who apply to study PGCE courses often have a low level of subject knowledge, creating tensions for training providers. This research aims to understand how best to support the subject knowledge development of trainees to ensure that schools have a supply of newly qualified Computing Teachers able to deliver the curriculum.
