Abstract

Neophyte academics appear to be susceptible to occupational stress and there is an increasing need to explore the mental health of individuals in the early stages of an academic career. In this article we present the reflections of three sport and exercise psychology PhD students. The reflections capture the challenges that these individuals have faced as neophyte academics and outline the strategies they have used to manage and meet these demands.
