Abstract
Re:Tension is a short film that addresses the topic of institutional racism and student retention amongst people of colour within British universities. The film attempts to provide an insight into micro-aggressive and racial harassment issues within the Higher Education system, that often go by unnoticed.
It follows the character Thapelo, a bright and ‘good’ university student, on a day where he is forced to not only question the judgements of his tutors and peers, but also his own actions, choices and beliefs
