Abstract

The purpose of this “In the Huddle” was to explore insights on self-care among various sport psychology practitioners (SPPs) and academics (SPAs). Seven contributors responded to the question, “What are the moments that defined self-care in your profession?” Through reflexive thematic analysis, three themes were generated: defining moments of self-care, characteristics for self-care, and the necessity for self-care. We discuss the shifting climate of self-care, the conceptual complexity of self-care and well-being, and the importance of sustainable well-being experiences. Thus, we invite deeper examination into self-care and well-being among SPPs and SPAs in the Journal of Sport Psychology in Action.
