Stefano received a PhD in Film Studies at University College Cork (Ireland) in 2011. Before moving to Leeds Trinity University, where he lecturers in Media, Stefano also lectured in Film and Media Theory, Media Practice and Cultural Studies at University of Bremen (Germany), Leipzig University (Germany), University College Cork (Ireland), Queen’s University Belfast (UK) and University of Navarra (Spain).
He has published numerous articles in international journals and anthologies on film and media theory, media practice, documentary studies, urban spaces in media, new media and interactive documentaries. He has also delivered papers at many international conferences, among others: NECS, Screen, Documentary Now! and Visible Evidence.
Stefano is Director of the International Research Centre for Interactive Storytelling (IRIS), co-founder and member of editorial team of Alphaville: Journal of Film and Screen Media and a film practitioner.

Research interests

Research Interests: Film and Media Theory, Theory of Film and Media Practice, Documentary Studies, Interactive Documentary, Visual Anthropology, New media, Digital Humanities and Trans-media.
