I am currently Senior Lecturer and Programme Leader of the Computer Science B.Sc. programme at Leeds Trinity University (#LTUCompSci).

I have previously lectured at Goldsmiths and Birkbeck where I taught on a number of undergraduate and post-graduate modules ranging from software development, web design and databases, to data programming and distributed computing.

My primary research interest is the auralisation of urban soundscapes (i.e. the rendering audible of outdoor urban environments by computational means). The purpose of this research is to assist in the planning, evaluation and conservation of soundscapes in the interests of public health and well-being and ecology.

My list of publications on soundscape auralisation is available via Google Scholar.

I am also interested in learning more about how software development industry practices are applied (or not applied) in academia, and what the implications of this are in terms of code quality, research impact, software sustainability etc.
