Sally's current research interests involve consumer engagement with nutrition labelling information and public health nutrition initiatives. Her insight in this area stems from her role before arriving at the University as Company Nutritionist at Morrisons Supermarkets PLC. There she led a team of nutritionists responsible for nutrition policy and nutrition labelling and especially enjoyed working with customers.
In this role, Sally was also instrumental in driving nutrition and health initiatives aligned to the Department of Health’s Public Health Responsibility Deal (e.g. calories on menus, traffic light labelling, reformulation) and conducted research with consumers and health care professionals as a member the IGD Nutrition Strategy working groups. The latter produced evidence based guidance for the food industry, of benefit to the public.
Sally is committed to producing meaningful research insights in collaboration with partners from all sectors and welcomes external approaches.
