Biography

Ricardo is a professional documentary and drama filmmaker with over 20 years experience.  He joined Leeds Trinity University in 2008 and specialises in Directing for Drama & Documentary; Editing; Camera and Lighting techniques and Motion Graphics.

As a freelance Producer/Director, Ricardo makes content for the BBC, ITV and Channel 4 for programmes that have included SHAMELESS and THIS LIFE.  He has created ‘Behind the Scenes’ documentaries for a number of British Dramas and continues to remain closely involved in the industry.

His career in the industry began at Granada Television where he was the Single Camera Director for The Entertainment Department and Regional Department, working on shows that included Stars In Their Eyes, Taste For Travel and The Wall of Fame.

Research interests

I am interested in the development of the concept of the 'Generalist' filmmaker. I write, produce, direct, edit and create CGI for dramatic and factual films for Leeds Trinity University, Trinity Vision and external associates.
