Paul is a Senior Lecturer in the Insitute of Childhood and Education. Having undertaken a degree in History, he has also completed an EdD, Masters of Education, Masters of Arts in Popular Culture.

Before Paul joined Leeds Trinity University he held a variety of positions across a number of educational settings. He was a teacher in a first school and a middle school before moving to higher edcuation. He has been a lecturer, course leader for curriculum studies, course leader for Applied Social Sciences, researcher and Head of Student Welfare. Paul joined Leeds Trinity University in 2001 where he has held a number of roles before his current position. Paul has been a Director of Student Support, an Associate Principal Lecturer and Acting Head of Department.


Research interests

Paul has a specific interest and expertise in Second World War History (German Perspectives), Politics and Culture and Education as portrayed in film. His research area is the changing nature of teachers' authority.  He can be consulted by external organisations and professional on the topic of portrayals of teachers in films.  To date, Paul has 5 publications.
