Biography

Nathan is currently senior lecturer in the School of Digital and Screen Media.

Research interests

I have 2 main research areas:

  1. Victorian literature and visual culture - I have been a member of the Leeds Centre for Victorian Studies, as served as Director for 5 years.
  2. European experimental poetry and art after WWII - I am currently working on a book project based on the art-criticism of Jean Louis Schefer, Georges Didi-Huberman and Jean Luc Nancy.

PhD supervision

I have co-supervised PhDs on Victorian history and memory (successfully completed within 3 years) and various aspects of Victorian literature.

Teaching and Administration

My teaching is in Victorian literature with other modules in the relation of creative writing to war experiences and also in the history of ideas.
