Biography

 

Michelle is the Director of School Centred Initial Teacher Training (SCITT). Having undertaken a degree in Applied Biological Sciences, she went onto study a National Professional Qualification for Headship (NPQH) and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Educational Assessors (FCIEA).

 

Before joining Leeds Trinity University, Michelle worked in a variety of educational settings. She worked as a teaching and learning consultant, a science teacher and a Head of science within a secondary school. Michelle joined Leeds Trinity University on 2010.

 

Teaching and Administration

 

Michelle is teaching two modules on the PGCE course. These are:

 

  • PGCE SCITT courses

  • PGCE Professional Studies

 

 

 

Research interests

Michelle holds a specific interest and expertise in Assessment and Science Education. Her research areas are:

  • Assessment

  • Teaching and Learning Pedagogy within Secondary Schools

Michelle is currently involved in research and consultancy work in Assessment Practices. She has also presented conference presentations at the Association for Science Education (ASE) International Conference for GCSE Biology new courses.
