Biography

Megan Stephenson is an Associate Professor at Leeds Trinity University and is undertaking an Ed D at York St John University. She is a senior member of the strategic leadership team within the School of Education. She has previously led Primary PGCE programmes, Academic Parnterhsips and the Early Reading and Phonics Curriculum. Megan has a growing publishing profile, including contributions to published works focusing on the value of creative, inclusive and systematic reading instruction. Megan was the lead editor on the core text, Training to be a Primary school Teacher; ITT and Beyond. Prior to working in HEI Megan taught in six primary schools across the North of England where she led on Phonics and Early Reading and trained as a Reading Recovery teacher and trainer. She has presented at National Conferences in the UK on her approach to developing ‘Inspirational Teacher Education,’ and is currently undertaking research in developing effective primary curricular in the post Covid digital age.
