With over twenty years of international experience in higher education, Dr Jamil specialises in curriculum design, assessment, academic development, programme validation, accreditation, and quality assurance within complex educational settings. He has held academic roles at five UK universities and a leading university in Bangladesh. Currently, at Leeds Trinity University, he leads strategic initiatives in teaching, assessment, and staff development. He also leads the Progression and Award process for Advance HE Fellowship schemes. In an external capacity, he supervises doctoral students at the University of Wales Trinity Saint David and serves as an Assessment Specialist for the Assessment and Qualifications Alliance (AQA). He has previously worked as Assessor and Trainer for the UK’s Turing Scheme and the British Council. Dr Jamil holds a PhD in Education from the University of Southampton, an MLitt in English Language Teaching from the University of St Andrews, and he is Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (Advance HE).

Dr Jamil’s research spans technology-enhanced learning, research-informed teaching, applied pedagogy, learner engagement, co-creation, and the internationalisation of curricula. He has edited three research-informed books on applied learning, academic innovation, and co-creation, and has published research articles in leading journals. He is a peer reviewer for top academic journals and a regular presenter at international conferences.
