Biography

 

Marie is currently the Postgraduate Programmes Coordinator for the Institute of Childhood and Education.  This role involves coordinating aspects of existing  provision and the creation of new postgraduate programmes. 

 

Marie has extensive experience in HE as Programme Manager and Senior Lecturer.  She has created and developed a number of innovative degree programmes and been called upon to advise other institutions  developing their portfolios.

 

Before working in HE Marie was manager of an early years setting which incorporated aspects of Steiner Waldorf approach, later becoming freelance lecturer and consultant specialising in behaviour, wellbeing, ethics, equality, diversity and inclusion,  During this time she was  appointed as adviser and CPD trainer to Leeds Education Authority and as EDI tutor for Leeds Hospital Trust.   Marie also have experience of working for Social Services supporting families with children excluded from nursery. Marie also developed and delivered an innovative bail hostel programme for those separated from their children whilst awaiting trial.

 

Current interests and research involve experiences of British Families during lockdown and the impact on health, education, work, family life and the use of technology.   

 

A previous research study on the topic on workplace bullying is being revisited with an aim of widening knowledge on academic mobbing.
