Kirstie is an Associate Principal Lecturer in Sport & Exercise Biomechanics and is the programme leader for all Sport & Exercise Science programmes at Leeds Trinity.  She graduated from Sheffield Hallam University with an MSc in Sport & Exercise Science (Performance Analysis & Biomechanics). Kirstie is currently researching within Sports Biomechanics in particular investigating the movement patterns of sports techniques.  She is currently undertaking her PhD at Leeds Beckett University exploring the Biomechanics of the Field Hockey Drag Flick. 


Kirstie originally trained as a Physical Education teacher and spent 12 years working within this sector in both Schools and higher education. Kirstie has also acted as a specialist advisor in the dissemination of the 2007 national curriculum for Physical Education to schools across Yorkshire and Humberside.
