Biography

Kathryn joined LTU in Autumm 2022 after 12 years at National Science and Media Museum. Kathryn's recent experience is in showcasing and growing the screen industries, particularly film and games. She was the Director of the Widescreen Weekend film festival and Yorkshire Games Festival and contributed to the winning bid for Bradford to be UK City of Culture 2025. She's had also managed commerical and cultural cinema programmes and established a network of rural cinemas in Yorkshire and Cumbria.

Prior to a career in Museum's Kathryn was a content creator and produced numerous short films and commerical projects. Kathryn has been involved in many research projects including Bradford's National Museum and the Come and Meet Another Me cultural power sharing project.  

 

Research interests

Kathryn's research interest is in the power of digital creativity to improve outcomes for young people.  She was recently seconded to the Bradford City of Culture 'Digital Creatives' project to design a creativty and research project to develop a new generation of digital storytellers in Bradford.
