Biography

I am currently an Associate Professor (Professional Practice) of Policing and Investigation within the School of Social Sciences at Leeds Trinity University and a Visiting Professor at the Lviv State University for Internal Affairs. 

In addition to my academic position, I am Academic Director for the Ethical Support Alliance, an international NGO which was established in 2022. The role allows me to work directly with policing and military organisations throughout Central and Eastern Europe. The Ethical Support Alliance provide specialist consultancy and educational programmes which focus on developing professional standards and countering corruption at tactical, operational, and strategic levels.   

Previously, I was Employability Lead for School of Sociology and Criminology within the Faculty of Business, Law, and Social Sciences at Birmingham City University. Other roles held at Birmingham City University included Deputy Head of Department for Criminology & Sociology, Course Leader for BSc Professional Policing, MSc Policing & Intelligence Analysis and BA Criminology and related programmes.I have delivered to a variety of different levels, developing skills in classroom management, curriculum design and managing teams, to ensure the completion of strategic visions and provide a high-quality service to learners.

In 2016, 2017 and 2018 and 2021, I was nominated for Lecturer of the Year and Personal Tutor of the Year again in both the BLSS Dean's Awards and the BCU Extra Mile Awards. In 2020, I was awarded the Dean's Award for Employability, demonstrating my commitment to knowledge exchange and partnership building. I pride myself on being a student-focused lecturer who works to continuously develop to ensure the best experience for my learners.
