Biography
Dr Jess Guth is a leading academic in legal education. She has written extensively in areas such as legal skills, legal pedagogoies and legal education and training reform. She is currently researching links between legal education and social justice.
Jess' second area of research expertise lies in European Law and policy and in particular in how gender plays out across Courts as legal and political institutions. She published Gender and the Court of Justice with co-author Dr Sanna Elvfing (Lincoln) in 2018. Jess is now turning her attention to looking at the role and impact of Advocate Generals on the Court of Justice of the European Union.
Jess' teaching expertise spans the undergraduate and postgraduate curriculum and she has taught on may of the core subjects as well as designed options in Employment Law, Law and Society, Law and Film, Gender Sexuality and Law and Human Rights. Her teaching brings her legal education research to life and is focused on empowering her students to make their minds their own
