Jeff Potter

Jeff started at Leeds Trinity as a Senior Lecturer in Childhood and Education. Having undertaken a degree in Sociology, he has also completed an MSc in Educational Research Methods and a PGCE (Further Education).

Before joining Leeds Trinity University Jeff worked in the Further Education sector as a lecturer and manager. He worked as a Curriculum Area Manager. This role required Jeff to lead a team of 20 lecturers / 300 students on BTEC Health and Social Care Courses at Leeds City College. Prior to this he worked as a Programme Manager for the BTEC Childhood Studies course at Park Lane College. Jeff joined Leeds Trinity University in September 2012.

From 2017 Jeff has had the role of Head of Programmes / Academic Group Lead for Children, Young People & Families (CYPF) provision in the Institute of Childhood and Education (ICE) at Leeds Trinity University.

Jeff is the Branch secretary for UCU at Leeds Trinity University.

Jeff teaches across all levels on the CYPF provision. He teaches:

• Level 4 Professional Development and Placement

• Level 5 Professional Development and Placement

• Level 5 Research Methods

• Level 6 Sociology of Childhood

• Level 6 Research Project

• Level 7 Masters Dissertation supervision

Jeffrey’s research interest and areas of research are childcare qualifications and training. He can also be consulted by external organisations and professionals on childcare qualifications and training.
