Biography

Dr Ibrahim Raji is a Senior Lecturer in Project and Operations Management at the Faculty of Business, Computing and Digital Industries. Before joining LTU, I worked as a Lecturer in Operations Management at Middlesex University, London.

Academically, I have strong European training from Italy (Università Cattaneo) and Estonia (Tallinn University of Technology), where I earned a European “Doctor Europaeus” Ph.D. title in Engineering and Operations Management. Previously, I had Bachelor's and Master’s degrees in Industrial and Production Engineering from Nigeria’s Premier University - the University of Ibadan, with First Class Honours and Distinction, respectively. I also possess an executive Master’s certification in Project Management from CUPE Limited, UK as well as a certification in Customs Practice & Procedure (with Distinction) from the Northern Ireland Customs and Trade Academy, UK.

Professionally, I possess twelve years of experience in Industry (Logistics, Distribution and Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Consulting) and Academia in several countries including the UK, Italy, Estonia, Nigeria, and Uganda. My research interest includes operations and supply chain management topics, lean and agile manufacturing/supply chain, the impact of industry 4.0 technologies on manufacturing and supply chain operations, and more recently, sustainable operations and supply chains. On these themes, I have collaborated on various industrial projects, won several awards and fellowships, presented my findings at several international conferences, and published in high-quality international journals.

As an academic, one of my teaching principles is “inclusion and interaction”, whereby everyone is carried along to contribute to the topics being discussed. At LTU, I currently facilitate the teaching of Modules in the areas of Project, Strategy and Operations Management.

In recognition of my track records in the industry alongside the impact of my Doctoral research on the Manufacturing and Supply Chain operations of organisations, I was endorsed by the UK’s Royal Academy of Engineering for the prestigious Global Talent Exceptional Promise Visa to live and work indefinitely in the UK.

I am open to collaborations in relevant research areas.
