Research interests

My research is focused on documentary production (past, present and future) & international film history (and film as history), the institutions of film production, distribution, exhibition and particularly in comparing Europe and Hollywood.  I continue to develop comparative research into the development of European cinema since World War II and its relationship to T.V. The first fruits of this project appeared in European Cinemas in the Television Age (co-edited/authored by Dr D. Ostrowska, (Edinburgh UP , 2007).

My research by practice continues to explore the opportunities presented by digital production, distribution and promotion. In recent years (based upon my experience with TRINITYVISION and my research collaboration with Dr. Stefano Odorico) I have been focussing my practice on interactive documentary in its many and various forms.
