Personal profile
Biography
I am a teacher educator in LTU’s School of Education and Childhood. I lecture across our BA and PGCE Primary Education programmes and specialise in early years, English and all aspects of inclusion. To this role, I bring experience of working in primary schools serving diverse and often marginalised communities, as a teacher, early years leader, and lead practitioner across a multi-academy trust.
I am currently a PhD candidate in the Department of Educational Research at Lancaster University, where my research centres on interpretations and applications of LGBTQ+ picturebooks through a queer theoretical framework. My thesis is titled 'Imagining a Queer Pedagogy through LGBTQ+ Picturebooks: A Participatory Study with Student Teachers.'
I additionally serve as Chair of Governors at Old Trafford Community Academy, Trafford.
