Biography

I am a Lecturer in Primary Education with specialisms in Early Years and English, teaching across BA and PGCE Primary Education programmes. Before joining the School of Education at Leeds Trinity University, I served as Lead Practitioner for Early Years across a multi-academy trust and held the position of Early Years Lead at a large primary school in Manchester.

Research interests

I am currently a PhD candidate in the Department of Educational Research at Lancaster University, where my research centres on interpretations and applications of LGBT+ picturebooks through a queer theoretical framework. My scholarly interests focus on children's emerging identities and the potential of picturebooks as tools for advancing social justice.
