Diane is an Associate Principal Lecturer in Primary Education. Having undertaken an undergraduate degree she has also completed an MA in Education Studies. Before joining Leeds Trinity University Diane held a variety of roles and responsibilities in different settings both educational and non-educational. She has worked as:

  • Deputy Head at Royal Park Primary

  • Key Stage 1 Co-ordinator at Middleton Primary

  • Various teaching posts in Bradford and North Yorkshire

  • Tenants Association representative

  • Shop Worker

Diane joined Leeds Trinity University in 2003 where she held a variety of roles before her current position. She held the position of teaching on the BA undergraduate courses mainly the professional studies module, was the lead for Primary Geography and was a link tutor.

Teaching and Administration


Diane teaches on the Undergraduate early years and later years primary education courses as well as on the PGCE Primary course.


Research interests


Diane has a specific interest and expertise in Intercultural and Global Learning and Primary Geography. Her research areas are global dimension, intercultural learning, Identity and inclusion as well as Poverty and Social class.


Diane has presented a number of conference and professional presentations. She has been leading Continuing Professional Development (CPD) with a family of 15 North Yorkshire Primary School during 2014/15 in association with the Global Learning Programme. She has also run the Global Teacher Award alongside staff from Leeds Development Education Centre for a number of years.
