Biography

David taught for 18 years across the primary age range in a number of primary schools in the North East and North Yorkshire.  He has recently worked as Primary Manager for an outdoor education company, leading residential activity programmes and school-based activities, before joining the Primary Education Department at Leeds Trinity University in September 2013.

A former deputy and headteacher, David has undertaken many roles in primary education including subject leadership in ICT, PE, Numeracy and Geography, SENCo, Healthy Schools Co-ordinator, Eco Schools Co-ordinator, EVC and governor.

Teaching and Administration

David is the Primary Education Early Years (3-7) Programme Leader, and is currently working with colleagues in both the university and partnership schools to develop a new Early Years programme.
 
David teaches on the Primary Education Early Years and Later Years courses as well as on the PGCE and School Direct Routes.
 
 
He continues to teach in primary schools as well as acting as a consultant on outdoor learning provision and activities.
