Personal profile


Catherine is Academic Group Leader for the Sport and PE group. She has been at Leeds Trinity in Lecturer / Senior Lecturer capactities since 2006, predominantly teaching in the areas of Sports Development and Physical Education. She is the programme leader for the BA (Hons) Secondary Physical Education and Sports Development and the BA (Hons) Primary Physical Education and Sports Development programmes. Catherine also has a lead role on Employability for the School of Social and Health Sciences.

Her career started in sports development where she worked with young people in schools and in the wider community. Being based in both primary and secondary school settings she has gained a wealth of experience in school sport.
She was involved in working with key partners to strategically deliver programmes of physical activity and sport for young people and adults. She has coached in a variety of sports in the UK and abroad.
Catherine has a broad range of academic interests; she has a postgraduate teaching qualification, a Master of Science degree, is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and is currently studying for an Educational Doctorate which focuses on employability in higher education.
Catherine enjoys most sports, travelling and of course her job!
