Biography

Andrew has worked in the education sector since 1998 before joining the University full time in 2015 as Senior Lecture in the Institute of Childhood and Education. His responsibilities include being the Lead Tutor for the PGCE Computer Science, Lecturer in Professional Studies, and a Module Leader in the Accelerated BA Education and Sport Degree. Andrew also has an interest in the teachers’’ continuing professional development, and has delivered sessions to Leeds Trinity’s partner organisations including Teaching Personnel, and has had input at the NQT Conference.

Andrew began his teaching career in 1998 (in Leeds) as a teacher of Computer Science and ICT before securing promoted posts including Head of Department, Head of Faculty and Assistant Head. During this time, he was instrumental in developing the infrastructure and training for Phase One BSF and a Free School in Bradford.

Andrew has had a long standing commitment to Teacher Education, having been for a number of years the Lead Tutor for the Leeds SCITT, initially back in 2004.

With a research interest in the development of using technologies to aid and support teaching and learning, Andrew was instrumental in instigating and securing the lead for the specialized diploma in IT, and leading on the engagement, development and assessment of this with partner schools and colleges in Bradford.
