Amanda Jefferson came to work at Leeds Trinity University after completing the Education Studies degree as a mature student. Proud to be an Access and Widening Participation student she is able to role model success to first in family students, mature students and those who may not have completed level 3 study between the ages of 16 to 18.
Amanda works in the School of Children, Young People and Families and ensures all the students are successfully engaged with academic skills, employability, personal reflection and professional placement opportunities. Being Programme Lead for the Education, Mental Health and SEND undergraduate degree, Amanda also teaches the Mental Health module for level 4 students.
Being involved with local employers and colleges is all part of the process of connecting the university, students and the community together.
The main areas of interest for Amanda are around mental health for children and young people, the sociological factors of education and any ideas and suggestions around educational reform.
