Allison is the Associate Director for Learning and Teaching in the Institute of Childhood and Education. She is a member of the Institute’s Leadership Team and has strategic responsibility for the quality of learning and teaching across the portfolio.

Allison leads on pedagogic enhancements that impact positively on outcomes and enrich the student expereince. She is responsible for the implementation of the University-wide Learning, Teaching and Assessment Strategy and is working with colleagues on the creation and design of the next LTAS. She sits on a number of University-wide Committees and is also involved in the development of international partnership initiatives. 

Before joining Leeds Trinity University, Allison worked as the Subject Leader for continuing and Professional Education at Glyndwr University, where she led on postgraduate and professional education programmes. She also developed close working links with Glyndwr’s strategic partners and external stakeholders, including Local Authorities, Further Education Colleges, voluntary and third-sector organisations. 

 Allison has over 25 years’ experience of working in both Higher and Further Education sectors and she is passionate about the transformational role of post compulsory education for learners.

Research interests

Allison’s research is focused on education and its ability to transform lives. She has recently completed her Doctorate, which focused on the professional socialisation process of Further Education teachers.

 Allison has presented at a number of National and International Conferences and has written for the Education Workforce Council.
