Profile Information
The Faculty of Social and Health Sciences brings together research expertise in Psychology, Criminology and Law, and Nutrition and Sport, as well as providing opportunities for multi- and inter-disciplinary research across the school and in collaboration with the Institute for Childhood and Education and the Faculty of Business, Computing and Digital Industries. We also enjoy a number of external collaborations with a variety of professions, industries and organisations, as well as with other Universities in the UK and abroad.
We are continuing to expand our research and knowledge exchange capacity and capability with the appointment of new research active staff, including Readers, Professors, and Senior Professional Practice Fellows, and the mentoring and further support of existing staff. Our expansion also includes further appointments to Graduate Teaching Assistant posts and PhD bursaries, and we offer a range of research awards from Masters to Doctoral level, all of which is consistent with our commitment to provide a vibrant and supportive research environment for both our students and staff.
Our developing excellence in research and knowledge exchange activities guides and informs our teaching and enhances the quality of our student’s experience, as well as increasing our contribution to the development of knowledge and evidence-based professional practice, including pedagogical research.
Whatever your interests in research and knowledge exchange are in relation to social and health sciences please do not hesitate to contact us so that we can help you with your requirements.
