DescriptionCHILDREN have been getting lessons – in how to deal with bullies.

The week-long “Say No to Bullying” scheme has been organised by the Huddersfield Pakistani Alliance in several parts of the town.

And the aim is to make it fun for the youngsters.

Huddersfield University student Elizabeth Nassem, who is studying for a doctorate in education and bullying, is helping run the Summer Challenge Programme.

Elizabeth, who is working in partnership with the HPCA, said it was aimed at raising children’s own awareness of bullying.

“Acts like teasing and taking the mick, all the things that happen in every day interaction, are part of the problem.

“We really want to put the awareness back on the children and their behaviour, and to spend the whole week looking at that.

“A lot of the time people claim ‘bullying is bad’ or ‘bullying is wrong’, and it’s easy to get people together and say that. “But we want children to reflect on their behaviour and see what they think about themselves.
