Photography and Artificial Intelligence

Activity: Attending or organising conference/seminar/workshopConference

Description

Conference: Photography and Artificial Intelligence (AI) Artificial Intelligence (AI) has been part of photographic production for several years but the easy availability of generative AI has prompted concerns about AI’s impact on photography, as well as an interest in new ways of creating images in equal measure, notwithstanding ethical and legal issues. With this two-day conference the RPS presents a series of eighteen international speakers - all specialists, academics or creatives - and four keynote presentations that will discuss the impact and opportunities of AI for photography, as well technical, legal and philosophical issues.

The conference is arranged in four panels: Introductory; History, Theory Application; Legal, Rights Practice; and Creative Practice over two days. Each panel will be followed by a Q+A with the speakers. It is presented in a hybrid format: live in RPS House, Bristol, and Livestreamed.

Delegates attending in person will receive a conference pack including programme, paper abstracts and speaker biographies. Light refreshments will be available during the two days (lunch is available close by). For information on local hotels and travel information please use the contact tab above. For those attending the Livestream the conference pack will be sent via PDF. Access details will be emailed in advance.
