    This globally significant event at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre, focused world attention on drowning prevention. WCDP 2023 gathered experts in drowning prevention, lifesaving and water safety to shape Global Strategy and Mobilize for Action. Thomas presented research from his first and second PhD studies. Presentation 1: "Factors affecting human floatation in water: a systematic narrative review" (poster presentation). Presentation 2: "Perceptions of floating capability in water: a survey of the public and swimming teachers" (oral presentation).
