Biography

Debbie is a Health Psychologist.  Prior to starting at Leeds Trinity in July 2017, Debbie worked at The University of Manchester as a Health Psychology Lecturer and remains an honorary lecturer in health psychology at The University of Manchester.  Debbie is a Stage 2 Health Psychology supervisor and currently supervises two trainee health psychologists.

Research interests

Debbie is a Health Psychologist with an interest in health behaviour change, health inequalities, maternity care and healthy lifestyle during pregnancy and following birth.  She has been involved in several multi-disciplinary projects on the topic of maternal obesity, Type-1 Diabetes and breastfeeding.  Several of these projects have been informed by patient and public involvement (PPI) groups and involved the supervision of PhD students.

Debbie has also been involved in many public engagement events to showcase health psychology as a discipline to the general public and has run several events to increase the aspirations of young people in terms of studying at University and using health psychology to improve their lifestyles and change behaviours.
